I received the book and immediately opened it up to find multiple ink blotches on approximately 25 pages. Most were in the front of the book, but occasionally another inked page would pop up throughout the book.

Great true story of the time when the world of golf moved from one dominated by amatures to today’s world of professionals. Unfortunately the author tends to uses trite sports writer words and phrases toward the end in order to fill the pages after the real story is over. This brought to life one of my most admired golfers – Ken Venturi and gave real insight into the men Ben Hogan and Byron Nelson really were.

A quick read, good golf book, didn’t really capture me, but held me enough to finish it.

Not as detailed or dramatic as the Greatest Game, but a solid recounting of an event that I had never heard of. Will make you grab your clubs and drive out to 17 mile drive.

This book tells a great story about an event on a fabulous golf course. I really learned alot about the players and golf history.
