Tiger played a fine round of golf, not dropping a shot on his way to becoming the clubhouse leader at 5-under par over night at Hazeltine National PGA Championship 2009.

Padraig himself shot a tender display of classical shots and only lies one shot behind on 4-under par.

Harrington did shoot a bogey on the 10th but this was his only slip up of the day, he managed to hit 5 birdies to ensure he remained right up there with the great one.

After Harrington’s round he was quoted in saying that he was tiring towards the end but was strong mentally for the rest of the day.

He also when on to talk about how the green staff have started the PGA championship 2009 with some generous pin positions, meaning there were a lot more opportunities to score birdies. Although he believes the pin positions were generous today he does believe it will get harder as the days go by.

Woods told the BBC that he felt really good out there, this is Tigers bid to try and claim his 15th major title.

“It felt comfortable and I hit some good shots but it could have been a really good round out there as I didn’t hit that many putts. I enjoy battling with Padraig and hopefully we’ll play well again on Friday.”

Tiger went on to explain how comfortable he was feeling, but was a little worried about his putting (only tiger can find fault in 5-under par round), and he looks forward to the battle with Padraig wishing him well for the second day.
