Have you made the top four mistakes in golf?
The four worst things you can do in golf are actually four of the tips you most often hear from your fellow players trying to help you improve your game. Give up these well intentioned, but misleading golf tips and you will not only improve your game, but will also increase your enjoyment of the sport.
Step 1
Relieve your tension by refraining from trying to constantly keep your eye on the ball. Your stress level will be at its worst when you are obsessing on this goal. Keep your focus on your swing and on the target instead of the golf ball to improve your game.
Step 2
Think of the fairway or the green as your target instead of the ball. Envision the spot you want your ball to land in as the actual target and you will be more likely to get there.
Step 3
Extend your arm during the swing by allowing your head to come up at the end of the swing. If you keep your head down the entire time you will actually stifle your swing and prevent your arms from following through toward the target.
Step 4
Allow your left arm to bend slightly during the back swing. The last of the four worst mistakes is to keep your arm straight throughout the entire swing. If you can accomplish this you will find that it’s quite an uncomfortable position. As a matter of fact, you will be more relaxed and will perform a more balanced swing if you let your arm naturally bend a bit.
