The Big Bertha 460 Driver left handed is designed with a geometry close to the dimensional limit set by the USGA/R&A for length and width. This enables Callaway Golf engineers to incorporate a 460cc head design with a shallower face, flatter crown and the highest Moment of Inertia ever in a Callaway Golf all-titanium head, resulting in longer and straighter off-center shots. In addition, the Stretched Head Design allows the CG to be positioned deeper within the clubhead to achieve optimum ball flight and maximum forgiveness.

I got hold of one of these from eBay for a friend and gave it a go – well it was awesome so I got another one also from eBay for $115 AUS all up in good condition used. I have used a number of drivers in the last few years Titleists, NIKE SUMO, Cleveland 460 Comp( also very good) but the BB 460 is by far the best both for distance,direction and forgiveness – I hit more fairways with this driver than ever before – super club and great value for money – it has to be a Callaway Classic.

 

I purchased the Big bertha callaway used. This driver is very forgiving. I previously used a titleist 983K that was awesome when hit. The problem w/ that driver was it had a smaller clubface, which meant less forgivness. Anyhow, i’m still in the beginning faze, but i picked up my driving game pretty quickly. I’m able to hit nice draws and fades w/ this driver. I would definetely recommend it, and i plan on keeping it for a long time.

 

I bought the bb 460 yesterday and took it to the driving range. I loved it. My ball went straight and 225 yds. I liked it because you could swing nice and easy and it would pick up off the tee and go. You didnt have to kill it. Very Good Driver to me.

Review:

Best iron I’ve owned. I played several Callaways, Taylormades, Pings, etc and the FTs are superior. Smallish head size, modest offset and a clean appearance at address. The face is hot and about half a club longer than stainless steel irons. The titanium face provides a unique feel at impact– soft yet slightly crisp feedback. I’ve been reading some reviews regarding graphite shaft vibration. It could be the high torque stock shaft. Callaway stock graphite shafts play almost a flex weaker (more so than other OEM shafts). Overall a perfect iron for the mid handicap player.

Callaway Japan introduces their all new Callaway Legacy Forged iron for 2009! The Legacy design was supervised by Roger Cleveland specifically for the Japanese market featuring a easy to use head shape, slightly higher heel and semi goose neck. The target audience is the mid handicapper to lower handicapper looking for a blend of forgiveness, performance in a mid sized high tech forged cavity back. Callaway has slotted the Legacy right in between the X-Forged and X-20. The Legacy features a soft forged body coupled with VAR (Vibration Absorption Rubber) and a high strength steel face for a solid but soft feel. Steel Shaft: Project 5.0 or 6.0 shafts

A Callaway Standout

Callaway has followed up their new 2009 US releases with a model headed straight for Japan in the new year. It bears some resemblances to many of the previous models but has a couple differences that make it standout in our opinion.

Inspired by Roger Cleveland

Roger Cleveland has come up with this sharp looking new iron for the Callaway brand…it’s called the Callaway Legacy Forged Iron…but unfortunately its only for the Japanese and possibly the European market. And similar to the new Japanese Ping Rapture V2 J…they are aiming at the true low-mid handicapper. Something neither do that well in the US. The closest model they will have in the US for 2009 will be the Callaway X-22 Tour…although it carries a more narrow sole and a shorter heel

According to our contact, the mid-sized new forged stick will come to market in 2009.
